We hope that you and your families are keeping well.
Hopefully, you are continuing to access the school website which hosts a multitude of Home Learning activities for you to use. Purple Mash continues to be our main platform for Home Learning so please make use of all the resources on there.
Since Spring Bank, we have been looking at ways in which we could extend the Home Learning offer whilst continuing with what has worked really well. Below are some of the new resources which you will be able to access from around about lunchtime on 22.6.20.
We now have a subscription to White Rose Maths which will allow you to access the worksheets which accompany the videos. These all link to the BBC Bitesize learning too, so that everything covers the same objective. Each Monday, a timetable with links for you to click which take you straight to the resources, will be uploaded to the school website and emailed to you on Purple Mash.
In addition to this, our teachers have been making videos for you which cover some of the written methods used at Woodhouse. There is one for each year group on the school website accompanied by some questions (and answers) for you and your children to practise the methods.
Serial Mash books on Purple Mash are a great resource and to help you to get the most out of this platform, a video has been prepared by Mrs Shaw which shows you how to access the resources that come with each book.
Look out for reading challenges which continue to be added to the Purple Mash blogs – these have been very successful.
In addition, the Oxford Owl for ebooks are an amazing resource for you to use with your child. Here is a reminder of the link: https://home.oxfordowl.co.uk
Every Monday and Wednesday, a writing task will be set on the Woodhouse Teacher blog. Teachers will use a stimulus picture from Pobble and children will have access to relevant checklists for their year group. Pupils will be encouraged to choose their favourite piece of work and email a photo of it to the Woodhouse Teacher email on Purple Mash by Thursdays. Every Friday, the work will be marked and feedback provided.
The very successful Home Learning Mat will continue to be uploaded to the website with a whole host of activities for your children to complete with all sorts of links to further learning. We hope you are enjoying using these activities as much as we are enjoying making them!
We continue to constantly review our Home Learning and hope that some of these new resources and links will be of benefit to you.
