Sporting provision takes high priority at the school – we encourage pupils to appreciate the benefits of being active and healthy.PE lessons are aimed at teaching pupils the fundamentals skills of movement, progressing to specific sports based skills and the ethics of teamwork.
All pupils have the opportunity to swim weekly in our on-site pool and older pupils have participated in rock climbing and other adventurous activities at a local climbing gym. Older pupils are encouraged to take on the role of Sport Ambassadors and play leaders which enables them to develop leadership skills and be role models for the younger members of the school community.
We strive to provide pupils with opportunities to compete in sporting events, both in school and beyond, and regularly participate in local football and netball competitions. With accreditation for the School Games Silver mark, we have also been represented in gymnastics, cross-country and athletics competitions.
In 2016 the whole school participated in the Race for Life, raising an astounding £5,555 for Cancer Research.
A range of extra-curricular clubs run at different times of the year and these have included football, netball, gymnastics, basketball, cross country, golf, Zumba and yoga.
